Buchlyvie Youth Café was set up by the Community Council in February 2024 because there were no clubs or safe spaces in the village where young people could meet and socialise.  This is a rural area with infrequent bus services and young people may not have the same opportunity to socialise with friends as they might do in a town.

The Youth Café runs every Friday evening during term time at Buchlyvie Village Hall from 7.00 to 9.00 pm for 12 to 17 year olds and children in P7 at Buchlyvie Primary school. Any of their friends from Kippen, Balfron, Fintry, Gargunnock and Gartmore are also welcome and the fee is £2.00 an evening.  The group discusses and plans the activities and volunteers share their skills such as baking, printing, banner making, karaoke, drama, games, drumming, and shadow puppets.  In good weather the group can be outside for football, rounders and a barbecue.  We are open to ideas so please get in touch if you would like to help out - even if only for one evening with an activity.

The Youth Café is currently run by local volunteers, two per session, who are all part of the PVG scheme with Disclosure Scotland. The Café can't operate without volunteers so please help if you can - the more volunteers we have, the easier it is to share the responsibility. If you could spare a Friday evening it would be a great help and you can contact us using this email: buchlyviecc@gmail.com

Or come along to the next meeting (date shown on the home page)
